Murudeshwar + JogFalls

 a drive to Murudeswar - Pilgrimage's paradise

Duration : 1.5 days
Distance covered : Bangalore to Sagar 350 + 350  km+ Sagar to Murudeswar 120+120 km
Way of travel :  Car
Date : 6th of July 2008

Murudeswar : This place is just 120 kms from my native (sagar) and about 500 kms away from Bangalore !! The sea is an intrinsic part of the temple scape. A huge 15 m. statue of Shiva towers over the town and has an overwhelming presence. The statue, which is only a few years old, is in a complex which encompasses the 500-year-old Shiva temple located on the spot where Ravana flung the cloth covering the Atmatlinga  at Gokarna  while lifting it.
With the aim of going to Waynad in bike washed away by rains at the last moment, myself and Purushotham headed towards my native and from there, we started at 7am in a chilling morning.
