BITS, Pilani (Rajastan)








Pilani is a remote place in rajastan which gets some outsiders only because of the BITS. Its 250kms from Delhi and the way depicts the real rural life in Rajastan.

It all started with my friend applying for a distance learning MS in BITS. Without second thought, i applied with him but never the last see will be interesting with the visit to BITS. Later point, i suggested all of my colleagues, friends and family to apply for this degree so that one will get opportunity to travel to Rajastan !

Our travel started early morning from Bangalore in the cheapest possible flight to Delhi where me and my friend shared a costly sandwitch. Luckily for us, we got one more student who was travelling to BITS, Pilani and we all booked a cab from Delhi airport to BITS, Pilani.

Flight was on time and taxi guy is also on time. We started at 9am from Delhi and with multiples stops, we reached Pilani by 2PM. It was kind of boring roads with dry places around and nothing much happening as such.

Got into the hostel of BITS Pilani and after that was much of a preparation to the demo for final exams.

Luckily for me, i had one old engineering friend in BITS and he guided lot on what and where of BITS.

we felt like the world is in our hand after finishing the exams..

After finishing the deal with BITS, we headed back to Delhi and more surprise was waiting there. Our taxi guy tempted us to drive through Himachal Pradesh and we had no reason to tell "No" for his offer. That will be 5 day adventure which will be continued in next blog..

Shantisagar lake (Davanagere)

Duration : 2 days Distance covered : 750km (Bangalore -Shantisagar- Davanagere - Vanivilas -Bangalore) Way of travel : Travera Date : 21st, 22nd March, 2008 21st March    It all started with a plan of attending our team mate's marriage. Friday morning, we were able to  start early at 5am. After having special "thatte idli" at katsandra ( near Tumkur), we headed towards Davanagere thinking about lunch menu in marriage :) After marriage, none of us wanted to come back to Bangalore for weekend.... I visited to Shantisagar lake almost 2 years back and we decided to have evening tea there. Everyone enjoyed the green fields on the Chennagiri route and rain which was playing hide & seek added more kick of enjoyment to the trip. Shantisagar is the biggest man-made lake in asia.Its 40km from Davanagere. Shabari malai

A trip to shabari malai... All this started on one fine day, when my colleague Chandru and i were doing the usual work in our office i.e. "kala harate" :) After finishing all the subjects we both knew, suddenly the talk turned its way to Shabari malai. Chandru has already been to this place twice and this was his third time... At that moment, without any planning or prep, i requested him to enquire if he can get a seat for me in this trip. Its always true that,things which are unplanned.. executes faster than things what we plan to do... and in the same way, plans to shabari malai finalized without much problems.
