Mekedhat + Chunchi Falls
a cool bike ride in hot summer
Duration : 0.75 days
Distance covered : 90+90 km (Bangalore to Mekedhat)
Way of travel : Bike
Date : 29th March 2008
Mekdhat (Sangama) : May be its the nearest and dearest place for the ppl in bangalore. Especially for a college or office group who want to chill out in the weekend. It can be realised if we see the number of vehicle (specially mini buses) which comes only in the weekends to this place.
Even though, its not the right time(season) to visit this place, we four decided to go for a ride just to prove that we are still young to drive 200 kms in a day :)) We started at 7am.. road up to Kanakapura is excellent and after that.. its a little exercise for the bike as well as to our back.
Breakfast time at Vaishnavi palace... on the way to Kanakapura
River Cauvery heading towards Thamilnadu...
ppl were finding one or other reason to be in water.. :))
have to do some rock climbing, if u want to see something more than what others see...
check out the unique kind of designs created by water force
one more view from water level !
time to get into water ... but remember to get a mug as water was at to the lowers level :(
we were lucky enough to get a good lunch at this remote place..
Next target : Chuchi falls : Its a nice small falls which can be visited on the way back from Mekedhat. But the bad thing is, we cant get into water as its pretty deep and there are very less hopes to come back !!!
pit stop on the way to Chuchi...
on the top of the falls...
thinking what so special about the rock on which i m jumping.. check the below photo
its the same hanging stone stuck in the middle!!
see this photo thrilled me .. i never realised i jumped that small rock !
finally.. the Chunchi falls !
takes little bit of trucking to get down here.. but its worth it.
